To the Editor:
Thank you, Kelly, for recently addressing the non-opening of the Trellis/NISI Restaurant. I was so excited to watch it go up, then to anticipate its imminent opening, what with the addition of a lighted sign, flowers, wine bottles, and even coffee pots at the ready! Then, for the past ages, nothing. I must pass the site twice daily, and I automatically feel a low level of annoyance and angst each time I pass. It no longer represents a fine, friendly restaurant site to me; rather, it has taken on the distinct characteristics of an upside-down grandadddy long-legs’ carcass. What Roosevelt Island did NOT need was yet another empty storefront.
Thanks for letting me vent about one of my pet peeves about this beautiful island.
