To the Editor:
Summer is here, and with the warm weather, ideal conditions exist for breeding pests. Walking down Main Street today with my two infant daughters, we could not help but notice the bird droppings in great abundance, as well as witness a common crow feasting on the carrion from a fallen nest. This discovery today, with last week’s news about the rat problem at the public school, makes me a bit concerned.
In what forum should the issue of pest management for the Island be brought up?
This is a wonderful Island and perhaps these things are overlooked and should be brought to the attention of appropriate persons.
Editor’s Note: Pest problems can be reported by calling 311, or by emailing the Roosevelt Island Operating Corporation at firstname.lastname@example.org.
